Regent Australia English Language Centre is a small language centre based in Port Douglas, a Great Barrier Reef coastal resort town in North Queensland, Australia. The Centre offers all students a relaxed and friendly environment in which to study and have fun. Class sizes at Regent Australia are strictly limited in order to produce quality learning outcomes for its students.

Regent Australia offers English courses that are suitable for business executives and professionals, intensive language courses. Our teachers are highly qualified (British Masters graduates) and permanently employed.

The Centre also offers help with arranging accommodation and provides advice on academic and welfare matters. It is well-equipped with excellent library resources, listening and video facilities, and up-to-date computer equipment. A free email service is available to students.

The Cairns-Port Douglas region of North Queensland is a lush tropical area and the meeting place for the rainforest and the Great Barrier Reef. A range of activities are offered to you in Port Douglas. You can go to the beach, go sightseeing in lush tropical rainforests or take to the water with a wide choice of watersports activities.

Regent provides a pickup and transfer service from Cairns International Airport.

The Centre is located near the beach and is within easy access of students. No transportation is required. You can walk or cycle. It's your choice.

Courses

The courses at Regent Australia are individually tailored to meet the needs and abilities of students, and range from beginners to advanced. The Intensive English Programme is ideally suited for students who have different needs and abilities.

The Executive English Programme is an intensive, "fast-track" course designed for work purposes, while the Business And Professional English course combines general English with business language skills.

Exam Preparation Courses are available for Proficiency, CAE, First Certificate, TOEFL and IELTS.

Entry Visas

To study at Regent Australia you will need to have a visitor, or tourist, visa that will allow you to study in Australia for up to 12 weeks. For longer courses, you need to apply for a Student Visa. We will guide you through the process of applying for a Student Visa.

Visa application forms are available from any Australian Embassy or Consulate, or can be downloaded direct from the Australian Department Of Immigration web site.

Health

To avoid unnecessary medical expenses in case of illness while in Australia we recommend you take out your own health insurance and travel insurance before you travel. Health and travel insurance are available through your Travel Agent, and international health information can be obtained from the Travellers Medical And Vaccination Centre, Australia's largest travel health provider.

Students on a Student Visa are required by the Australian Government to have an Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC). Current rates (below) apply to the length of your visa, not to the length of your course.
