Australian Research Council (ARC) has granted $334,000 to a project by the University of Tasmania (UTAS) scientist that would help the salmon industry to curb fish mortality rate due to toxic released from algal blooms. This project helped the university bag a total of $7.6 grant. The other projects to get a share of this grant are those on black holes, ocean acidification, and bushfire management.
