Children's Services Education (CSE), formally known as MEGT Institute, is a leading vocational course provider offering courses in early children education and care, a growing area in need of skilled and qualified workers.

Sydney Campus

The Sydney campus is centrally located within the CBD close to public transport, parking, entertainment venues, restaurants, eateries, financial institutions and accommodation. Campus facilities include spacious student common rooms with free Wi-Fi, a computer room with plenty of computers available for students, a purpose-built play session training centre and onsite kitchen and dining facilities.

Melbourne Campus

The Melbourne campus is centrally located within the CBD close to public transport, parking, entertainment venues, restaurants, eateries, financial institutions and accommodation. Melbourne is a very cool, cultural and artistic city that is very well rounded and has something to do for people of all ages and backgrounds there. Melbourne also has the cricket ground that is home of the Australian Rule Football team in the winter and cricket in the summer months, so these sports are especially popular around this region. . It has great markets, beaches, and entertainment for travellers and locals to enjoy. Melbourne has an international airport, and rail links to other states surrounding VIC.

Courses

Courses are available for study full time and are available for enrollment each term, term dates start during Feb, April, July and October. Entry requirements will determine on which course you are entering however a general knowledge of English will be required and successful completion of Year 10 or being of Mature Age will also be required.

  • Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care (Course code: CHC30113 CRICOS course code: 0100378)
  • Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care (Course code: CHC50113 CRICOS course code: 0100379)
  • Packaged course: Certificate III +  Diploma (Early Childhood Education and Care)

Entry Requirements

To undertake an Early Childhood Education and Care qualification with CSE, you must:

  • 18 years +
  • IELTS 5.5 (no band lower than 5.0) or equivalent for entry into Certificate III course
  • IELTS 6.0 (no band lower than 5.5) or equivalent for entry into Diploma course
  • Be physically able to perform single rescuer cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) on an adult resuscitation manikin placed on the floor
  • Satisfy a Working with Children check. The Student Services tea assists you with this during your orientation week

Pathway Opportunities

Children's Services Education (CSE) has a pathway arrangement with Australian Catholic University (ACU). Therefore students who complete the Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care at CSE may be eligible for entry into the Australian Catholic University (ACU) Bachelor of Early Childhood Education (Birth to 5 years) and Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood and Primary).*
