Dear Students,
We are writing to inform you of some very exciting and positive changes in the MEGT Institute Certificate III and Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care Courses. These changes are based on feedback from students, trainers/assessors and industry and have been carefully considered and have gained approval from the Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA).
Classroom Delivery Schedule:
From February 2nd 2016 all classroom based training will commence at 9.00am and finish at 4.30pm each day, with a 45-minute lunch break. For students that wish to attend the English Assistance Classes, held twice weekly, they will continue to operate from 4.15pm to 5.45pm and you will be able to leave class 15 minutes earlier in order to attend.
Work Placement Schedule: From February 2nd 2016, work placement days will be reduced from 5 days per week to 3 days per week. Work placement will take place on the same days that you would usually attend class. For example, if you attend class on Monday, Tuesday and Friday you will be required to attend work placement on Monday, Tuesday and Friday. Work placement will remain at 8 hours per day.
Please note that due to academic requirements not all current students will be able to switch to the new Work Placement model in Term 1, Feb 2016. However, all current and new students across both Campuses will switch to the new Classroom Delivery Schedule from Term 1, Feb 2016.
