So you’re planning your family holiday and you are heading for the Gold Coast. Fantastic! You are also planning on heading to the theme parks. Even better! You should though try and plan your days out the best you possibly can as you don’t realise how much there is to see and do at each of the theme parks during your stay! One of the main theme parks to visit is of course Sea World, and it’s great for those people who love all sorts of animals that live in the ocean. We have put together some frequently asked questions and answered them in order to help you out on your time on the Gold Coast and especially at Sea World!
Where is Sea World?
Sea World is on the Gold Coast in Queensland which is one of the most popular tourist destinations in all of Australia. The Gold Coast is around an hours drive south from Brisbane so you can easily travel from the state capital if that’s where you are staying. While on the Gold Coast you can see various other attractions such as the other theme parks in the area and the pristine beaches of nearby Surfers Paradise.
When does Sea World Open?
Sea World is open every single day of the year except for Christmas Day on December 25th and for ANZAC Day on April 25th. These are two national public holidays in which you will find very limited places of business open anywhere in Australia. The daily park hours can differ and it’s best to go to Sea World’s website for the most updated times, but generally the park opens at 10am and closes at 5.30pm, with rides inside the park closing at 5pm. But you should always check with the park before you visit in case there are any special opening hours for the day you visit.

We would recommend any human being with a pulse visits Sea World as there really is something for everyone! For the kids there are so many activities to take part in as well as rides and for the older kids the rides will do their entertainment level no harm whatsoever! Unfortunately Sea World doesn’t allow you to bring in your own food, with the exception of people who have specific dietary requirements. Items such as bottled water and fruit may be brought into the park, but you will find a wide variety of food places in the park for you to purchase food at. Other exceptions will also fall on parents who will need to bring in certain food for their infants and babies. If you do have any questions on this then you should always contact Sea World directly.
I’m disabled; will Sea World be able to safely accommodate me?
Of course! There are plenty of rides and attractions that are wheelchair friendly and Sea World offers wheelchair hire as well as wheelchair and disabled parking.
